8.3.0 Facebook Pages how simpler?

    Hi,

    I’ve just updated ROP to 8.3.0 and I noticed that the Changelog wrote:
    New: Made connecting Facebook pages to plugin much simpler.

    How is that working? I went to try to add Facebook again to the configuration, but it still as complicated as ever with all the mess about getting your app reviewed and your website authorized.

    How is 8.3.0 any simpler than before?

    I’ve been using ROP for Twitter for a long time but I never got it working for FB:

    And how come ROP is much more complicated for Facebook than all the other apps: Buffer, Jetpack, IFTT where it’s incredibly easy to post to FB.

    Hi, we’re slowly rolling out this new feature so it’s only available to new installs.

    To see the option you need to either go to General Settings and check “Delete all plugin settings on uninstall(housekeeping)” and then deactivate and delete, then reinstall the plugin and you will see the option.

    Note, that if you have custom messages/message variations set for your posts they will be deleted as well as the plugin settings are completely reset once this option is checked so you’d need to reconfigure your settings.

    Thanks a lot for your answer!

    It’s absolutely awesome! It’s even easier than Twitter!

    I had to deactivate URL Shorting because it was showing an error message in the logs even with is.gd. But since the link is not show on FB, I don’t think it matters much.

    Weirldy enough, the error is back but it’s working.

    Now, for each FB share on the log, I got two errors:

    Error Posting to Facebook:

    But the post is correctly posted on FB and URL Shortener is disabled in the post format.
