You could try something like this in your sidebar:

Ive done nearly all of that on my own site, except for the adding to the front page part, which was by choice. MAYBE this weekend, ill plugin-ize it all — its a pretty tight setup that I have.

Too bad the plugin does not work with sidebar widget.
