728×90 ad breaks mobile responsiveness (For the free help week)

    I have a 728×90 ad after the post title in every post.

    When i visit the page from a mobile device, it still shows up and break the responsiveness of the site.

    I know there’s an addon that decides to show or not to show the ads based on the screen size, but i would like to know if there’s the option to resize the ad instead of hiding it, or even better, show an optimized size if it the visit is coming from a mobile device.

    I just need the ad is always visible, but in an optimized way.

    thanks for reaching out.

    Sounds like the mobile condition doesn’t work properly because of caching. The cache-busting should help with that.

    There is no other option than to disable this ad on smaller devices, because the ad is loaded from an DFP ad server. Due to that, can’t be scaled down like a simple image banner and must be replaced with a smaller version instead.

    Hhhhmmm… What’s the best solution to my problem?

    Because, the cache-busting addon would only address the first problem, but i will have the other problem anyways, from what i understand of what you just said.

    Problem #1: mobile condition doesn’t work properly because of caching.
    Solution #1: cache busting addon

    Problem #2: ad still breaking responsiveness because, even though it’s treated as mobile, the ad is hosted in DFP so Advanced Ads can’t resize the image.
    Solution #2: this is where i’d like to know if any combination of Advanced Ads plus any of it’s addons would guarantee the DFP ad will show properly (mobile or not).

    That particular DFP ad unit will always break smaller devices because it has a fixed size.

    You have two choices to deliver a fitting ad, one with DFP and the other with Advanced Ads and its add-ons.

    In order to deliver a fitting ad through DFP you can follow their manual.

    The alternative solution with Advanced Ads is based on having two ad units in DFP, the current large one and a smaller one. You can assign the desktop or mobile device condition and put both in a group, so that only one is delivered. On cached sites it would need cache-busting included in Pro to rotate properly.
