Updated two sites from 7.5.3 to 7.6 today, a live and its test site.

Both then reported “Jetpack.com detected an error.” in Debug but were working correctly before the update. They are both connected to WordPress.com by site and account.

The live site (www.) is showing this error now.

I have done some testing on the test site (https://dev.henleyherald.com/), please read this carefully:

    1. Deactivated all plugins except for Jetpack – problem goes away (Your Jetpack setup looks a-okay!)

    2. Activate plugins one by one – the following plugins all individually appear to result in Jetpack detecting an error:
    Smart Slider 3
    WP-Optimize
    YOP Poll
    Advanced Ads – Ad Tracking
User Role Editor (this plugin gives inconsistent results, sometimes causing the error, other times not)

    3. The live www site uses Yoast (dev does not as it ‘hidden’ from Google) but this does not cause a problem (I installed it on dev, no issues, then deleted it).

    4. The www site uses https and the Really Simple SSL plugin but the dev site is http. I cannot test whether Really Simple SSL is in conflict because I can’t deactivate the plugin otherwise the site stops working (and it’s a live news website). However, the Jetpack error was still detected when I deactivated all the plugins above temporarily.

    5. The dev site currently has the plugins mentioned deactivated and Jetpack status is “looks a-okay!”

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Both sites currently look good on our end; they’re connected with WordPress.com and I don’t see any issues with that connection at the moment.

Both then reported “Jetpack.com detected an error.” in Debug

Do you see that error under Tools > Site Health right now, or somewhere else?

If you see that report under Tools > Site Health, it may be a false positive that we’ll need to fix. Do you think you could use the “Copy site info to Clipboard” button under Tools > Site Health > Info to send us all that info via this contact form, so we can take a closer look?

    Thank you!

    i have the same error

I thought I posted a reply last night but it ‘got lost’ somehow.

The error is reported by Jetpack > Dashboard > Debug – see https://imgur.com/a/mBjh1XN

Site Health also reports it and I posted the site info via the form you requested and received a reply from Deric. I will continue the discussion there.
