I think this started with the update to 4.8.1. 6.2 I’ve already tried to clear the cache from the account page.

Administrators appear to be able to load these pages just fine when logged in, after the cache was cleared; even site Editors continue to receive the same issue after cache clearing. A normal visitor also experiences this problem.

Here’s a Pastebin of the Console error:

    https://pastebin.com/iu7Suxxf

I’m seeing the same error on 3 different sites.

I’ve double-checked folder permissions and things look OK.

I’m going to try reverting to the previous version and see if the error goes away.

  • Correction: 6.1.6 works for me. Thanks for the advice, @joe-alberts!

Drat, login expired while I was submitting my last response:

Got a chance to test 6.2.1 out, @kseaborn. I deleted the plugin folder’s contents and uploaded the 6.2.1 files. Cleared plugin and browser caches.

So far, everything looks good. Loading fine on the front end, and, while it took a bit of time, it loaded the 1300 items in the library on the back end as well.

Phew. So I think it must be the ziplib/php compiling issue.

I’ll be releasing (what is hopefully) the fix in 6.2.1 in a little bit. Please check and let me know if still not working!

6.2.1 brought down the whole site, I’m afraid. All pages, including admin pages, threw this error:

Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in /home/thevega5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/zotpress/zotpress.php on line 355

I wasn’t able to uninstall it through the admin interface, so I had to just delete the files directly.

Please try 6.2.2 when it’s out. Sorry about that! Seems to be a difference in how versions of PHP handle things.
