Since the upgrade to 6.2 I have been having problems with the Appearance item on the WordPress menu system. If I select Appearance I receive an error: This page isn’t working, along with a code 500. The same is true for the Theme and Menu subitems both give the same error message along with a code 500. However, if I select the following subitems from the Appearance menu: Customise and Theme File editor I can access them. Needless to say, themes and menus are more important to me as I currently can’t add any new menu items.

  • Which theme do you use? Probably this one is not (yet) compatible with the new WordPress version.

Can you check via updates if a theme update is offered and install it?

The error you encountered should also be mentioned in the error log in your hosting. This would allow you to identify the exact cause.

I Have now got this resolved and thought I’d record the solution in case anyone else has the same problem. I had the Wordfence plugin. I deactivated it, and then activated it again, and all was well.

Thanks for sharing your solution, I had some issues with menus in 6.2 too, and deactivating/reactivating Wordfence solved it for me too.

Thank you for sharing two day…spending on 3 Daya to resolve this error…but wen i activate wordfence again, same probleme..=(
