I see that some people posted but wanted to add to the list. 6.0.2 and .3 totally took our sites down and had to revert to 6.0.1.1.

How I first noticed is we use Beaver Builder and I got a notice from WP from our sites that use TEC that when they upgrades, it caused Beaver Builder to have compile errors, then caused the website to crash.

I put a snippet into your plugins main php file to stop showing notification for updates so we don’t accidentally update again until the issues are fixed. Hope it comes soon. I don’t normally see issues like these in minor version updates so curious to see what could be the issue crashing everybody’s sites. Thank you!

  • We noticed that 6.0.3 still crashes our site if YOAST is activated. It shows a critical error, but nothing is being logged to an error_log by the events calendar plugin. If we deactivate YOAST, EC is working so definitely another conflict with EC…

Hi @wpexpertca, sorry to hear about this and apologies for the delay here, I’m back now.

In regard to the Yoast SEO, we just released a fix, could you try upgrading to the latest version? See if that makes a difference.

    Please keep me posted.

Hi @grimesweb, I’m curious about this, could you share with me any error logs? This would definitely help me investigate this issue with Beaver Builder.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi @abzlevelup ! After seeing some of your other posts, we definitely do use Yoast on all our sites so I’m thinking that was actually the case. I will test out on a staging site and see how it goes, thank you! If it breaks again, I’ll provide the logs for you in regards to BB if that comes up again. It may have just been a freak coincidence. Thanks.

We are confirming the conflict with YOAST! We had to switch from YOAST to SEOPress and the issue is gone… So definitely something between Calendar event and YOAST plugins.

Hi @wpexpertca, we released a fix with Yoast SEO v6.0.4, could you try upgrading and see if that fixes the issue you’re having?

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

    Best,
    Abz

    Hi @abzlevelup,
The problem persisted for more than 3 weeks and we couldn’t wait any longer. As I mentioned 2 days ago we switched to SEOPress and we are not going back to YOAST. But lost confidence in your plugin especially since the update to version 6.0 it was bugs after bugs… Looking for another events solution.
    Thanks

Hi @wpexpertca, sorry to hear about this. We’ve released a couple of features and compatibility for WordPress 6.0, that led to an unexpected surge of queries and we have focused our resources on bug fixes. Transitions like this having huge updates are tricky and I do understand your frustration.

That being said, apologies that we were not able to make it in time. We’re sad to see you go but if you decide to use our plugin we’d be happy to assist you.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience it may have caused. Thank you for your time and patience.

    Best,

    Hi @grimesweb,

Since we haven’t heard from you in a while on this topic, we will assume that the problem was fixed or is no longer applicable, and with that, I will mark this as resolved.

If that is not the case, please let us know, and we will gladly remove the Resolved tag and try to help you further. Or you can create a new topic with the problem if you prefer.

    Thank you,
    Abz
