    Hello,
in the last week, this Wordfence email:

A user with username “_xxx_” who has administrator access signed in to your WordPress site.
    User IP: 171.65.54.69
    User hostname: 000.55.94.000
    User location: Paris, France

NOTE: You are using the free version of Wordfence. Upgrade today:
    etc…

is blocked by, it seems, GMail.
I mean, when I’m login to my website, I receive this message from my Sitegound email account ([email protected]):

    Reporting-MTA: dns; es1000.siteground.eu

    Action: failed
    Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected]
    Status: 5.0.0
    Remote-MTA: dns; outbound.mailspamprotection.com
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 This message has been reported as spam by other users.

I already spoke with Siteground support and my website is correctly configure with an SMPT plug-in.

also, I tried to send the Worfence Report test to my Gmail and website emails and it works in both accounts.

Can you explain me what’s the problem?

  • Make sure DKIM and SPF are set up for your domain name. These help emails to get “trusted”. Your hosting provider can help you set these up.

Also make sure to install a plugin for (real) SMTP and fill in your SMTP credentials. Unless this is done, WordPress would resort to PHPMailer which isn’t good, it won’t be trusted by mail providers.

It is also entirely possible that GMail is being overzealous on this. You should just set up another mail account to receive these alerts into.

    Hello,
I have the exact same problem with gmail. Dkim and spf were already configured correctly and always worked fine. I tried with two different gmail addresses and they both give the same problem. Gmail problem?
    Thank you, Giuliano

Today it’s back to normal operation, thank you
