WordPress upgrade 1.0 to 2.0 milestones

  • It appears that in order to upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0 a couple of stops need to be made:

    a) 1.0.x must be upgraded to a 1.2.x version
    b) 1.2.x must be upgraded to a 1.5.x version
    c) 1.5.x must be upgraded to a 2.0 version

    – and there are no shortcuts.

    I’ve read about importing posts and comments from other blogging platforms to WP, but there is not a method of importing the earlier WP versions posts and comments to a newer install – even on a new server account.

    Would this be the nutshell of IT?
