  • Hi @kunya ,

We are sorry to hear that your site shows Error 505 when activating Yoast SEO. We understand how frustrating this could be. Let’s see what’s happening.

A 505 error is an error that is signaled by the browser when the HTTP version is not supported by the server. With this, we want to confirm a few things:

    1. Does your site meet the plugin requirements here?

    2. Is your site running the latest WordPress 5.5.1? Due to the reasons discussed here, we don’t support old WordPress versions.

    3. Are you using the latest Yoast SEO 15.1.1?

    4. Are all your other plugins and themes updated as well?

    Hello @jerparx,

Thank you for reaching out so fast, here is my response:

    1. PHP version and WP version are up to date (it will show an error on the site if not, currently there is no error so all is up-to-date), No issue with DB
    2. Yes, my wp version is 5.5.1
    3. Yes, after updating the Yoast plugin into 15.1.1 and after activating, it started to show the error/issue
    4. Yes, all are updated, few plugins are not updated but even if I deactivate them, the issue is still occurring, but if I deactivate the Yoast plugin it worked

So please help me fix it, thank you.

Thank you for getting back to us with answers @kunya

That is very strange. We have not received similar reports so this could be an isolated case specific to your setup. We’re sorry that you are experiencing problems that might be caused by our plugin!

Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?Then activate Yoast SEO and all other plugins one-by-one until you get the error again.

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

Let us know how it goes!
