504 Gateway Timeout with Jetpack Contact Form

    I have been using the gmail smtp plugin on my website since the beginning, and it has been working really well until two days ago. Now visitors to my site who try to leave a message via the (Jetpack) contact form receive a 504 Gateway Timeout error. The messages are coming through just fine to the admin area but the senders only see the error, and I am not receiving email notifications anymore either. I deactivated my plugins one by one, and it’s gmail smtp that causes the issue. For now I will leave the plugin deactivated but I would appreciate any help in fixing this.

    Hi, Do you get the same gateway timeout error when sending a test email?

    I activated the plugin again this morning to check, and guess what… the contact form is working again without the error, and the test email works fine as well. I never tried sending a test email while the error occurred, so I can’t answer your question, sorry.
