• I tried using the plugin, but after a few minutes using it starts to appear a 504 Gateway Timeout error message, which knocks down my server. Does anyone know of any way to get around this error?

    If you do a google search on 504 Gateway Timeout it will say that it is a communication problem between servers. One user who reported this problem reconfigured his server and was able to eliminate this issue.

    Can someone please look at my site – darmatravels.com

    I am currently getting the following message – it may be because i have just created a popup using popup builder (this was the last thing i have done).

    Error –
    ERROR 504 – GATEWAY TIMEOUT

    Why am I seeing this page?

    The server that your request has reached is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request made by your client.

    Web Browser => Web Front-End => Web Back-End

    This server (Web Front-End) received an invalid response from an upstream (Web Back-End) server it accessed to fulfil the request.

    In most cases this will not mean that the upstream server is down, but rather that the upstream server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data.

    This problem is most commonly caused when there is a problem with IP communications between the Web Front and Back-Ends. Before you attempt to resolve this problem you should clear your browser cache completely.

    I don not know why you are experiencing this issue. It is a transmission error that could be a symptom of a missconfiguraiton on your server. You can check out this page, especially the ‘Fixing 504 Errors on Your Own Site’ section.

    Hi Alan
    Thank you for your reply.
    I read through your article and installed the WP-DBManager plugin.
    I debugged it and then optimized it.
    The problem is still occurring.

    At the moment the error appears intermittently. I am trying to edit a post and the error keeps occurring.

    Is there anything else you or anyone else can suggest ??
