Hello, I’m running into an issue where whenever I try to customize my site with a Responsive template, I get a 503 error that says “The server is temporarily busy, try again later!”

The plugin tries to make a call against this URL:

    {site URL}/wp-admin/customize.php?autofocus[section]=responsive_layout

It doesn’t matter where I try to customize the website from, I always get this 503 error and I can’t seem to do anything. I can still add posts, media, images, and update the menu from other settings, but in terms of going directly into the website and editing the custom home page, I am unable to do so.

Is there anything I can try to do? I updated the plugin to the latest version 4.8.3.1, I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin but it does not seem to do anything. I do not have any other plugins installed. It looks like the URL throwing the 503 points to customize.php, but I can’t find that anywhere in the theme files?

I should note that this was working fine until this past Saturday May 13th, EST. The day before I was editing and customizing the site without any issue, but yesterday suddenly stopped working. I thought it was just blip, so I gave it a day, but it still seems to not be working.

  • Hi @diecastcollector ,

503 status code (Service Unavailable)?typically indicates a performance issue on the origin server. Could you please once contact your server support and explain this issue?

    Best regards.
