    Can I please verify, have you managed to login into the dashboard after installing the plugin?

    This hotfix only works once you login, if you are unable to do so you will need to restore your site from a backup.

    I have managed to login to my site,but still lot of 503 service unavailable errors crop up especially when the traffic spikes up.

    That seems like a resources issue under load rather than related to this bug, installing a caching plugin will help, you may want to consider WP Super Cache.
