    Hi,

Immediately after installing and activating this plugin I receive a 503 error in my WP admin. The only way I figured out how to resolve this was to delete your plugin via FTP.

Any advice or suggestions please? Any known conflicts that would cause this?

    Hi @tictubso

There are no known conflicts that would cause an immediate 503 error. For this type of error I would always investigate security plugins first, but I’ve personally used all the major ones without issue.

The best way to test this would be go through the following steps:
    https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/what-plugins-are-known-to-cause-conflicts/#kb-how-to-find-a-conflict

If you can install without issue while your website is running under these default conditions, you can reactivate your plugins, one at a time, and test after each activation to see when the 503 error reappears. When it does, the last plugin activated is the likely source of your problems.

We understand that testing like this on a live site isn’t always possible, so we recommend doing this testing on a copy of the site. Some hosts have an easy way to create a staging site. If yours doesn’t, you can copy your site using free plugins like
All-in-One WP Migration, Duplicator, or any other plugin or system you like. Your host may also be willing to create a staging site for you if you ask.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Thanks for the reply. The 503 error does not appear until the Formidable Forms plugin is activated. It seems to be the only one causing issues, no conflicts which is what I originally thought.

Further, I reached out to my host about this and they replied:

However, I did notice your Disk Space and very close to capacity (8.73GB/ 10GB).

Should you wish to install a plugin/ theme/ content that is over 1.5GB you will likely run into this error again.

I recommend either upgrading your diskspace or removing any unused/ unwanted files to clear some space.

So, how resource intense is your plugin?

    @tictubso

You mentioned the issue goes away when disabling Formidable, but could you please go through the steps to find a conflict too.

Try disabling all plugins besides Formidable Forms and switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty Two and see if the issue still happens? If not, enable plugins one by one until you find the one which causes the issue, and share the info with both plugin developers.

The plugin is used on many sites and has no known optimization issues that should cause this. But each WordPress environment is unique.

As for the disk space, that’s probably unrelated to Formidable as form submissions (unless they contain large file uploads) take up very little space. You could use a disk space plugin to find large files and free up data.
