503 crawl errors on Google due to Shareaholic blocked

    I contacted your support but not got an answer for 2 days. So, trying here.

    In the last few days Google Webmaster Tools has started to report 503 crawl errors which indexing my site.

    When testing using the [fetch and rendar] button on webmaster tools, it returns a ‘PARTIAL’ message and not ‘COMPLETE’ for the URL’s from my site shown as 503.

    Looking at the link of the partial result, I get the following e.g.

    As you can see it is showing social and shareaholic paths in the errors as ‘blocked’.

    Can you please help me understand why this is happening? Or what can I do to stop this?

    I do not want to have to change the share plugin to another due to this.

  • Hi indyparker,

    Thanks for letting us know! For certain URLs from Shareaholic we block requests from bots, therefore, you will see those messages. However, this should NOT slow your site’s performance at all. You will not need to do anything from your end. Hopefully this info helps!
