Hi! I’m having trouble logging in to my WordPress website. When I try to login, it says this:

    “Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request

Reason: Error reading from remote server”

What should I do about this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @tarissa

An issue typically causes this error message with the server that your website is hosted on. The server may be experiencing a temporary outage or a configuration issue, causing this error to be displayed.

If you are experiencing this issue, there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve it:

    1. Wait and try again: The issue may be temporary, so waiting a little while and reaccessing the site may resolve the problem.

    2. Contact your hosting provider: Reach out to your hosting provider and ask if they are aware of any issues with their servers. They should be able to tell you if there is a problem and when it is expected to be resolved.

    3. Clear your browser cache: Sometimes, clearing your browser cache can resolve website access issues. To clear your cache, follow the instructions for your specific browser.

    4. Check for plugin conflicts: A plugin on your WordPress site may be causing this issue. Try deactivating all of your plugins and then reactivating them one at a time to see if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps you resolve the issue quickly!

    Please contact your webhosting support,
502 is an error communicating between your web server frontend software and (PHP) backend, when backend is not responding for some reason.

Thanks so much! I did contact my hosting support, and they said there was nothing wrong. Turns out, I just had to give it some more time and it came around. ??
