I have been using this plugin (the free version) in my password-protected website without any issues and it works great. I added a button color “Red” in the sdm_wp_styles.css which is working fine. I also use a search plugin called Search Everything. Recently I added a document with the name “RAD”. When I search for rad, I get a 502 error – “The page request was canceled because it took too long to complete”. This also happens when I search for “Red” and “Rid” but not “Rod”. When I search for other words that are not found, I get the normal plugin page for no results.

I tried to fix this by adding Red into the button color function list “function sdm_get_download_button_colors” in the sdm-utility-functions.php file, but that didn’t help. The problem is in sdm because I turned off all the plugins and everything else worked perfectly until sdm was re-activated (the search finds “rad” without any issue).

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

Hi, the plugin in question has not been update in over 2 years. I would not use it myself. It says that it was tested up to WordPress version 4.7.12. I am certain this is the reason why you are having issues.

    Kind regards

Thank you. I guess I will have to change search plugins. Do you have a recommendation? I just need a good in-site search.

Hi, unfortunately no. You need to search in WordPress repository. There are many search plugins. You need to test them and find the one that works for you.

    Kind regards
