• I’m getting complaints from customers of 502 Bad Gateway errors accessing either the main products page or the return page (when they come back from Paypal). I can view the main products page, but when trying to check out I get the 502 error upon return from Paypal. We’ve had NO successful sales since implementing this plugin. When I get the error it states that the document returned no data – View Source shows a blank page (no HTML). How can I troubleshoot this??

Hi, the 502 bad gateway error is associated with your PayPal account and/ or your server. Have you being in contact with your host? Have you checked to make sure your PayPal account is functioning correctly?

It only occurs on the Shopping Cart pages, not on any other page of the website. So if it’s a problem with the server it must be some compatibility with the cart. It shouldn’t be a Paypal error as it sometimes happens on the original page – long before someone would go to Paypal. Not sure how the Paypal account would affect the products page, as that all loads from the server. All other pages on the site work perfectly, only the cart pages have this error.

Hi, do you have your PayPal IPN set up?

It doesn’t look like we have it enabled on this account. Reviewing the settings, it’s asking for a URL – and I can’t tell what URL I’m supposed to use..?
I just tried to enable IPN in Paypal and set it to go back to the /review-order/ page. The 502 error comes up if I try to click the Back link in the cart after a 3rd item is in the cart, OR if I try to edit the Qty of a 3rd item. Very strange…

Hi, the URL usually is your website. For example yoursite.com. This is because your website has the shopping cart plugin installed.

OK, I updated that in Paypal but I still get the same error. The 502 error persists (once I get it) even if I try to go back to the root of my domain (which doesn’t have the PSC).

Hi, make sure you clear your cache if you have a cache plugin and you exclude your shopping cart pages. You can also try the following URL php session.

If none of the above helps you, you will need to contact PayPal support. See if they can share more information in regards to your issue.

    Kind regards
