• WordPress running on Windows Server IIS 6 (yes, I know Linux is better, but client want Windows)

Build a WordPress site in a sub-directory ../wordpress and everything worked fine.

Moved the website to the Root directory using the Duplicator PlugIn and the site loads fine and I can login to the admin section. However, I get a 500 server error whenever I try to update the menu structure, update or add new pages, posts, etc.

I moved the web.config from the sub-directory to the Root directory and re-saved Permalinks but still having issues. Any idea how to fix? Do I need to make changes in the web.config file?

    Thanks-in-Advance,

    John

  • Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.
