• Hi,

I was trying to add something to functions.php. As a newbie I did this in the wrong functions then accidentally removed functions.php from wp-includes. So, I copied functions.php from another WP site and replaced. This got me the 500 Internal Sever Error when trying to log into WP-Admin.

My host (powweb) says it is because I have ‘win_is_writable()’ in two locations /htdocs/wp-admin/includes/misc.php and /htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php. If I removed win_is_writable() from either of these files I could get back to wp-admin but then the site disappeared. So I put them back in both files. Now, still cannot get back into wp-admin but also (after changing and replacing win_is_writable() in /htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php) only the homepage is showing and none of the subpages.

Is there a quick fix to this? Do I need to reinstall WP? If I reinstall how can I keep all my theme data (mantra) so I do not have to rebuild the site?

Thank you very much for any help.

Added php.ini file memory=20mb. Did not help.
Changed htaccess.html to htaccess.txt. Did not help.

If you do a manual re-install, just replace the files from the wp-install, wp-includes and root files ( Don’t touch wp-config.php )

Your theme is in wp-content so it should be fine, and your content is in the database so it should be fine too.

    Good luck.
