    Hey there,

Thanks for making this plugin, I’ve used it on several sites and recommended it in a guest post on plugins.

However, I recently installed the plugin on a site and got the 500 Internal Service Error message, keeping me from being able to access either the main page or wp-admin for the site. Auto Post Thumbnail was the only plugin recently installed, and I’m sure it was this plugin that was the issue, because I had trouble with it before and turned it off. My hope was that upgrading to the newest version of WP would do the trick, but that was a big mistake.

Before the 500 Internal Service Error, I began the process of having the plugin go through and pick Featured Images. It got stuck at 66%, so I left the house with that running, hoping with patience it would be done by the time I got home. Next morning, 500 Internal Service error and no access to WP front or back end.

I’ve gone into FTP and deleted the plugin as well as renamed the plugin folder to plugin.hold…so it looks to me like something has gone amiss with the database. Please help!

OK, I seem to have resolved the problem by doing away with the .htaccess file. Hope there was nothing in there I need. =/

Though I’d like to work with the plugin coder to figure out what went wrong, so I can continue to endorse this plugin. Does Auto Post Thumbnail affect the .htaccess file? I’d be happy to pass along the text of the old .htacess to the developer, but don’t feel comfortable posting it here.

The plugin does not affect the .htqcces file

Well maybe so, but that plugin was for sure the only thing that changed (I’ve duplicated the problem) and the only way I was able to fix it was getting rid of the htaccess file.

I later found that the Woo theme (Simplicity) I was working with had an option to do what this plugin does, so maybe that was causing the conflict, and perhaps the Woo theme was writing to .htaccess. Dunno!

I get the same problem, doing away with the htaccess file didn’t work, only a reinstall of the latest WordPress worked.

As soon as I activate the plugin it slows the site down to almost a stop… When I checked the progress of the plugin it has done very few images, assuming they all end up in the months upload folder, which seems to be the case…

I would LOVE to make it work.
