I am getting a 500 server error when I try to edit the home page and this page when logged into the WP Admin of the site. So far, only these two pages have been affected, that I can see. This happens when I am viewing the rendered pages, logged in, and click “Edit Page” in the admin bar at the top.

I turned off all plugins (error did not happen) and then activated Jetpack ONLY, and the error happened again. No errors from today reported in PHP error logs on my server. Have contacted my host about checking for errors but none have been reported.

I have checked the .htaccess file, and reset it. Still the issue occurs.

Can you please help me resolve this?

Hi @rkread59, thanks for reporting this, and for going through some troubleshooting solutions before reaching out – that will save some time ??

It looks like your site is no connected to Jetpack at the moment, and I can understand why, since the plugin gives you a 500 error upon activating.

The first thing to try to fix this is to increase the memory available to WordPress:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/

If that doesn’t work, can you check your error logs to see what exactly is going wrong? Your host can help you find them if you need help.

Let me know what you turn up!

    Hi

I just worked with my host to resolve the 500-internal server error. It seems there were files missing in the Jetpack auto-installation. I installed the plugin manually using FTP.

I have another follow-up concern regarding connecting jetpack. If I am using the Opera browser, while logged in to WordPress.com, and connecting Jetpack to my self-hosted website, it does not connect the two. However, I am able to do so if I use Safari.
