    site: globalrescuerelief.org

I recently (on 2/8/14) changed my theme from TheStyle to Engrave Lite 1.4.91. Today I noticed the site was sluggish to load. Then it simply generated the following error for both my site and for wp-admin:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I cleared my cache and cookies to no avail. I tried FF, IE, and Chrome on 2 different laptops and still received the error. I contacted ipage, my web host, and they are not experiencing server issues. I checked my error log and the last reported error message is:

    20140210T065135: globalrescuerelief.org/wp-cron.php
    sh: 1: /usr/local/bin/zip: not found
    sh: 1: /usr/local/bin/unzip: not found

This was generated on 2/10 and the site issues began today 2/12. I googled the /usr/ error and it suggests that it’s a backup buddy download issue. Using my file manager through ipage, I disabled the backup buddy plugin along with all plugins, but this did not prevent the 500 error.

I’m unsure what to do next. ipage reverted the site, in theory, to TheyStyle to determine if it is the new theme causing the issue. But it didn’t correct the error so they switched it back to the Engraved Lite theme.

Any plain language assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Please advise.

    Thank you, rebecca

Internal errors are related to .htaccess file (a file that guides the browser how to act when someone arrives to the domain). Even though I got those in the latests wordpress.

So, first step is to get ftp access to your website and check if the .htaccess file is ok (download it and open it with a text editor)

Thank you for your help. I was able to get the issue fixed.

    Hi there,

Please help me ?? I am trying to install the BackupBuddy plugin on my wordpress website and it’s asking me to upload a .zip file but when I click on the BackupBuddy folder about 10 or more different files are contained inside. How do I upload this as a .zip? So that I can get BackupBuddy to install?

    Many thanks
    Tammy
