500 (Internal Server) Error changing permalinks

  • I tried to changed the permalink to my domain. heres what I did.
    1. I scrolled down to settings to PERMALINK
    2.Under customs settings, I press the button for Custom structure for “/%postname%”
    3.I pressed saved changes.
    4. I recieved 500 (Internal Server) Error.
    5 I pressed the back button, and nothing!!!
    I looked on here for related post like mine. Found nothing. Please help!!!
