• I’ve set my site to do a lockout when someone tries “admin” as an username since that username doesn’t exist no one should be using it. I’ve gotten hundreds of attempts this morning from different IP addresses. Now I can’t access the login page, I get a 500 internal server error. The site shows up but it looks like the styles are messed up.

Any suggestions on how to stop the script (the person) from trying to login to my site?

How can I log into my site and check on the security plugin? If I deactivate the plugin, the script is going to continue to try to hack it.

  • Hey Happyliu,

You can’t really stop something from attempting an attack. But you can prevent them from breaching your site once they do.

As for the server error, could you please share your PHP webserver error logs? If you don’t have access to these your host can provide them for you. If you don’t want to share them publicly you can email me. This is likely going to be due to resources since you’re under such a heavy attack.
