Hi, don’t know if this is related, but we are encountering a 500 Internal Server error after automated (Easy Updates Manager) update of the AIOS plugin to the latest version 5 hours ago. No other updates were installed. Anyone else encounter this problem?

    Hi,

Can you send us your PHP Error logs so we can see what the actual server error is.

You may need to ask your hosts for these.

Or if you have WP debug on then they will be found in wp-content/

    Best Wishes,

The problem was solved by our hosting company which commented out a line in the .htaccess file that caused the error:

    #TLINKS_START

Don’t know who placed it there. Does it ring a bell?

    Hi,

    Sorry about the delay.

AIOS when turning on image hotlinking adds this line:

    #AIOWPS_PREVENT_IMAGE_HOTLINKS_START

If thats the full line you had then it seems the .htaccess somehow got corrupted or it’s something else that added that.

If you could send the lines before and after I would have a better idea.

Maybe someone was editing the file and accidentally hit enter on that line so you ended up with:

    #AIOWPS_PREVENT_IMAGE_HO

    TLINKS_START

    Dear Ashley,

I encountered this exact issue where the htaccess file also got corrupted for one of my client’s websites after updating the plugin to version 5.1.8.

Fortunately, I was able to resolve the issue by using a backup copy of the htaccess file that was created prior to the update (stored in the directory /wp-content/aiowps_backups).

If you would like to investigate further, I can provide you with the corrupted htaccess file for analysis. Please let me know if you have an email address that I can use to send it privately.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    Best regards,
    Ben
