    hi
I have a large file of XML data (800 MB) from my old wp site that I am trying to import into my new site with little success. your plugin is the closest I have come to success but not close enough.

I could not do the typical upload because it keeps timing out so I used FTP to upload the file. Everything looks fine but when I choose the file and start the import process, I get greens all across the board till the last instance of “Get preview records”. This part runs for about 15 seconds then I get a 500 internal server error. how can I fix this, please?
    Thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

your file is too large so you have to increase php configuration max_execution_time and memory_limit

i will reply to your mail for further discussion.

Thanks and have a nice day

okay, that worked. I changed max execution to unlimited, increased memory to 8GB, and I was able to get past the 500 error. However, the import process is not advancing past 0%, and it’s been about 3 hours now and I set it at one record iteration. Should I wait longer or is this a problem?

after running for 18hrs+ not a single post imported

24 hrs later and nothing so am giving up. I was so hopeful but like these other plugins out there if you have a large XML file to import you are pretty much screwed…
