Hi there, I get this 500 Internal Server Error in my preview window, and it is like the PWA is not kicking in.

If I add my site to home screen, the uploaded icon and title is not displayed, instead a page dump and the page title is set in?

    Regards
    Carsten

If I check in Lighthouse, PWA is not validated, and in the console, Service Worker is not active. I have been testing another PWA, where Service Worker normally is activated?

    Hi Carsten

    Apologies for the late reply.

The service worker should be in the root folder of your site when the plugin is activated.

In regards to the 500 issue:

    • Do you have caching on your site? – You will need to allow the theme.json file to not be cached.
    • Do you have a CDN activated? – Again you will need to allow the theme.json file to not be cached as well as your admin area should not be behind the CDN. (We are working on an update for this.)
    • Is your server permissions set properly? If the plugin cant write the config files it will cause a 500 issue as well since our service cant access any of the configurations.

Can you please send me a link to your site and I will be able to give you better insights on what could be causing the issue.

Hi there, thanks for your reply, WebSuite PWA, has been deactivated, but now activated again. I’m not sure it’s the SW from your plugin here?

The add to Homescreen icon shows up now, after a while, and the 500 error is substituted by a blank frame.

Thanks for looking into this, I will send you a PM with my login credentials, do you need admin rights?

    Hi Carsten

Thank you for the details, I have had a look at the site and the setup.

I tested in Chrome browser and the preview page was displaying, there where a few settings that had to be setup to have it display the data.

Our PWA is focused on post heavy sites (News/Blogs/Publishing/Research) at this moment in time. We are however working on functionality to support all types of sites with a lightweight version and it should be released within a few weeks, it will be built into the current plugin, so no need to install a new plugin.

With the above in mind, our PWA wouldn’t be suited for the site that you are trying to use it on right now in its current state unfortunately.

I will be more than happy to update you when the lightweight version is released to give it a try?

I hope this helped clear up some details.

Thanks for testing this out on my site, I’m looking forward testing your lightweight PWA version when it’s ready.
