• I do not know if it happened to anyone else, but when I asked to update the plugin Sportpress 2 days ago my site crashed and I can not access the wordpress panel anymore.
I did the update of the plugin and when I clicked back to the dashboard the site stopped and started to display the message “500 Internal Server Error”.
I have already increased the execution time on the server but it does not work.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi!

    Thanks for that!

Did your hosting provider send you the error logs? They would be very helpful at this point.

    Obrigado!

    Remains the same error

    Hi @jrwebdesign ,

If you apply the above patch, it is impossible to have the same PHP error/warning as before. At least the line number will be changed ??

    Thanks,
    Savvas

There was no new error log generated here for me. What remains is the error when attempting to activate the plugin and displays the error message 500.

Unfortunately I cannot help you more because I can not reproduce that error. No other user report anything similar, so I can assume that is something wrong with your installation or/and your server. You should hire a developer to help you out.

    Thanks,

It’s unfortunate because I’ve already started feeding my site based on the plugin and now I’ll need to find another compatible solution to redo my entire page.

I got to erase all my wordpress installation and reinstalled everything from scratch, before installing anything else I installed only the sportpress plugin and the flaws remain, it is clear that it is not a problem in hosting or installing my site.

    Hi @jrwebdesign,

Can you please try and delete the file /home/forcajov/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sportspress/modules/sportspress-default-nationality.php and see if the problem is still there?

    Thanks,

    Nothing changed

You are receiving the same error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘*’ in /home/forcajov/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sportspress/modules/sportspress-default-nationality.php on line 2
even if you delete sportspress-default-nationality.php ???

Did not display a new error, just the main one, “Connection Timeout”.

I have the previous version of the plugin (2.5) available for me to reinstall here.

    (@savvasha)

Do not use an old version of plugin please. Always use the latest version!
Also be sure that you are using the latest version of PHP 2.7 (2.7.19). Check also Site-Health tools of WordPress at /wp-admin/site-health.php for any more info on your error.
