500 Internal Server Error

    hi eugenealegiojo,

    “failed to open stream” error message means there is a problem with connecting to google books server. Do you have allow_url_fopen directive enabled in your PHP configuration?

    I have started receiving this error as well on an install and configuration that has been working fine until just recently and yes allow_url_fopen is set to “on” using php 5.4.43

    With this error the image is not generated but all other fields are imported.

    @djuric can you kindly investigate further to find the cause of this?

    Related to this, is there perhaps other ways to connect to the server without the need to set the allow_url_fopen to “on”? Random reading here and there suggests some security concerns.

    @nina15 I couldn’t replicate this error so far, I tried different queries for different books but there was no error message.

    I tried with “pro php and jquery” search query for the book @eugenealegiojo mentioned in his post but this is being imported correctly

    Which query and which book are you trying to import when you get this error?
