500 Error ! trying to access admininstration area

    Hi
    My WP site is nearly finished and has been uploaded , installed with my provider. To finish testing and building it I have protected site using htaccess and htpasswd files which works perfectly well allowing only registered people to check the site after giving name and password.
    My problem is when I try to access administration area I receive a 500 error
    Any body any ideas how to get arround this problem and access administration area ?

    A 500 error is a bit generic to make a definitive suggestion – check your webservers error_log for more information and post back here.

    Potentially your .htaccess file has some errors, or you’re running the specific beta version where there was a .htaccess issue.
