    Hi!

Please help me, I think I’ve totally stuffed up my site! I was trying to add some code (from the theme developer, found here – https://shaybocks.com/custom-fonts-foodie-pro/) to the function.php file and as soon as I clicked ‘update’ it started with this error:

    The thelastspoonful.com page isn’t working
thelastspoonful.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    500

That goes for the site and the wp-admin. I’m really new to all this stuff and am really worried I’ve ruined something!!! Would appreciate any help thank you ??

Try to access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/YourThemeName/, open functions.php and remove the code you added.

In the future, I would recommend installing WordPress locally and testing any changes there before you do it on your live site. That is what I do and it have saved me many times!

It’s a well known bug. It affects thousands and thousands of users. I installed a clean WP on a clean FreeBSD site with Apache 2. Right out of the box, I get the classic:

    The XXX page isn’t working
XXX is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500

I have to login from a manually contructed URL. I wonder, why so many programmers does not test their code.

    How to solve this error..

    The XXX page isn’t working
XXX is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500
