I am getting 500 error when attempting a test email with google authenticated.

I’ve read the other threads and updated to version 1.4.1 and still getting the error.

The contact forms on the website are firing properly and we are receiving the emails so I know that gmail is properly connected.

Why the 500 error when sending test emails inside your dashboard?

    Please advise.

    Regards

    Peter

    Hi,

Could you please provide recent records inside your error_log file for PHP, right after you see 500 error after sending a Test Email?
    So steps are:
    1) go to Test Email page
    2) submit the test email and see error 500
    3) find error_log with PHP errors on your server or in your CPanel/DirectAdmin/etc
    4) get the latest several records that have PHP Error at the beginning.
    5) post them here

Without this information I’m unable to answer your question.

In topic title you mentioned error 500.

Screenshot 1 – you have not configured Gmail. Click “Allow…” button in Settings.
Screenshot 2 – no 500 errors, those that is there – no related to plugin at all.

    Hi,

Thank you so much for the assistance however the plugin is still not behaving on my end. I had the client come in to re-authenticate their gsuite account today and am now getting the same 500 error as when I originally posted.

To make things very easy for you to understand I have recorded a screen cast of the issue here: https://somup.com/cFl6bznXuD

This should make the issue very clear and I have also taken a screenshot of the latest errors for you here: https://prntscr.com/lt6ox3

    Please advise.

Ok, now I see that error 500 on your video.
Please remove the link to a video, you are revealing a sensitive information (or remove it from YT).

All those errors from a screenshot are not related to a plugin (server is blocking external requests to a WordPress file, something like a firewall or similar).
Those errors that you displayed – they are NOT PHP errors log, they are errors in a server log (those are different things). You need to find a specifically PHP error log. It will definitely have the answer there.

Yep good point. The video is gone now.

However I had to contact hosting support regarding the error log you request. I will follow up here soon. Please stand by.

Ok I found the error logs you require. Sorry about that. You can download them as a txt file here: https://www.teamm1.com/error-log-dec-12-2018.txt

Please let me know what the issue is.

    Thanks again.

    I see, thank you.

Although I don’t understand why that happened. Could you please select an option in plugin settings Misc – remove data on uninstall. Deactivate the plugin and remove it completely and reinstall again. You will need to define client id/secret again and go through “Allow…” route too.

I can but I dont want to because I would have to call the client back to office to redue her connection for the 3rd time in 2 weeks.

As of right now the forms are firing, I just cant run the test.

Is there any other way we can figure this out?

    hello
i installed wp mail smtp plugin and set up the forms and the connection with gmail.
now when sending a test email there is an error:
Contact your web hosting provider and ask them to verify your server can make outside connections. Additionally, ask them if a firewall or security policy may be preventing the connection – many shared hosts block certain ports.
Note: this is the most common cause of this issue.

    could you help me?
    thanks a lot..
