Whenever I install and activate this plugin the whole website gets a 500 error.
The only way to remove the 500 error is to login via FTP or open IIS and delete the Plugin folder for The Event Calendar.

Is there a way I can determine the cause of this and get it working?

I would like to use it as part of our internal staff portal as a public leave calendar.

    Thanks in advance

  • On the local server I have the same problem.
After activating the plugin, I get an error message:
Fatal error: Maximum function nesting level of ‘256’ reached, aborting! in D:\OpenServer\domains\wordpress-test-plugin.loc\wp-content\plugins\the-events-calendar\common\vendor\lucatume\di52\src\tad\DI52\Bindings\Resolver.php on line 339

Your problem might be resolved by looking at the line in your php.ini file that relates to the maximum nesting level.

    Try it out.

    Hey @lewishackfath & @samick2,

After some testing, and a few other reports of this issue, we’ve determined this to be a bug. It’s been reported and escalated, and should be fixed in a future update.

I’ll keep you posted on any temporary fixes we come up with, as well a when this gets permanently fixed. Thanks for hanging in there and for your patience!

    Best,

    Shelby ??

    For internal reference: Bug #71958

    Hey,

I’m reaching out to let you know that we just released a fix for this issue. Please update The Events Calendar to versions 4.4.1.1 and let us know if this actually makes the issue right in your site.

I ended up moving everything to a Linux based server as I was not sure how long it would be before a fix was released.

However I have migrated back to IIS in order to test the fix.
    It has been resolved.
The Plugin successfully activates and functions correctly in IIS.

    Hi @lewishackfath,

Thanks so much for following up to confirm that the fix worked properly on your end! ?? I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as resolved, but please don’t hesitate to reach out with a new post if you should have any other questions or concerns. Cheers, and thanks again!
