I’m working on a site that will be launching this fall, and we’ve noticed an issue when testing events. If I try to switch to list view when there are no upcoming events, I get an internal server error. Adding a future event prevents that from happening, but I’m sure there may be times when no events are scheduled.

I found an older thread with a similar issue, but apparently that bug was resolved in the 3.3 update. Just wondering if there is a current known bug or a way to get more information about the error.

  • Hey Andrea,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

This is definitely an interesting issue to be having. I tested out on my local install however I wasn’t able to recreate the issue.

A couple of quick questions that may help to narrow down:

    1. Is this happening just on the list view or does it also happen on other empty archives? For example, if you create an event category with no events does that archive also go to a 500 error page?
    2. Have you tried following the Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict occurring with an existing plugin or theme?

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks!

….And of course now that I opened a support request, it’s working fine. I blame the gremlins!

Ah, those darn glemlins! We should really add a warning in our documentation to avoid getting them wet. ??

I’m glad the issue is resolved–feel free to hit us back up if anything else pops up.

    Cheers!
    Geoff
