500 error on install page

  • Hello, i have a strange problem. When i open my site to complete WordPress install on web interface, it errors with code 500 with PHP 8.1. If I switch to 8.0, i can install just fine, then i switch PHP back to 8.1 with no problems. What caused the issue? Thanks.

    It’s very hard to know since the issue didn’t happen again, and therefore we don’t have the exact step-by-step to reproduce it.

    This is typically caused by a PHP function included in the PHP8.0 version but changed/fixed in 8.1, if no files/dir ownership or permissions were changed in between.
    If you do not specically need 8.0 you are safe to go with 8.1, however for a Production site that may be a courageous choice ??
