500 error + infinite loading indicator instead of donation confirmation

    I noticed an issue on our website where when a user submits a donation through Stripe with their credit card, the donation will successfully go through and send a confirmation email but the donation confirmation screen never shows up. The iframe will go into an infinite loading indictor and if you open the console through the inspector tools, you can see a 500 error on the /donation-confirmation. I found that when I’m logged into the WPEngine backend – this doesn’t occur and I’m able to see the donation confirmation just fine. I looked through the docs and saw that this could be a cache related issue but I’ve cleared my site cache as well as my browser cache and saw no difference. Could someone point me in the right direction to what could be causing this?

    Hi there,

    I just did an Offline Donation, and it seems to have gone through, but I was confronted with the email verification form, and couldn’t then see my Donation Confirmation page.

    Errors like that typically have to do with aggressive caching, either via a plugin or your web host. We wrote this guide to help you troubleshoot issues like that. Take a look at that, and if you’re still not getting it resolved, let us know and we’ll dig in deeper.
