Found some things similar, but nothing that would help, so…

I installed wordpress a month ago and have been fine until yesterday, when I installed and tried a new theme (gossipcity). Now I get a 500 error every time I try to access my blog. My admin is still accessible and works fine. I tried reverting to the default theme, but the damage is done.

From my reading around, it seems something may have been messed up in my database, but I have no idea how to find or correct such an error. Any help?

Oh, and if I delete the .htaccess and set permalinks to default, it becomes an error 404.

So I guess I should take the silence as a “got nothin’.”

Having the same problem, so I decided to bump the topic. This happened to an almost fresh install, the only things I did was change the front page to be the about page, added 2 admins (myself under my name and the co-founder) and installed a few themes. I can’t even access the admin panel in any way. If there is something wrong in my database, I would like to know what to fix.

We are using MySQL5 and I don’t know what version of WordPress I’m running for sure because I can’t log in to the site in any way and can’t find that information in the database, sorry.
