• Hi,

I’m Cameron & I’m admin at https://www.vetsharp.com. I’m new to this, so bear with me ??

    I’m getting Internal Server Error 500 after installing W3TC 0.9.4. I have WordPress 4.0.

I have previously had a couple of related plugins installed – WP Super Cache and BWP-minify but I have uninstalled these and deleted their directories by FTP. I’m worried these may be part of the issue?

I have searched around and found various instructions for how to do a fresh install of W3TC including removing the W3-total-cache folder, advanced-cache.php, db.php, object-cache.php. I’ve checked .htaccess for any references left over. I followed the install instructions to the letter but I’m still getting the error when accessing any admin sections.

I have no programming experience so I can’t yet provide debugging info until you tell me how. I’m not sure what further info you need – let me know what I can provide.

    many thanks
    Cameron.

  • I am too! it is on a network site setup.
I have deleted the plugin and am still getting the 500.

This forum could be renamed “ask a question and the listen to the crickets chirping”

I understand I haven’t paid anything and I’m operating on the free version of the plugin, but the issues I’m having with the plugin, combined with the lack of interest in this support area don’t inspire me to buy the paid-for version.

Just had the same problem. What fixed it for me was:

I deleted the plugin files via ftp
Then deleted the code w3tc added to my htacess file.

Still trying to figure out why this happening just happy to have my site back!!!!

Thats interesting, just reinstalled it and it worked perfect this time.

What seemed to happen previously is the that the code added to .htaccess file was added on the same line of the last piece of code (if that makes sense) so there was no line break before the w3tc code, so instead of deleting the code just add a line break ??

I’m using WP 4, I installed W3 Total Cache and I don’t have access to admin pages anymore. I checked .htaccess, but the extra code was inserted before the WP code. I deleted everything and reverted to a backup, so my site is up again, but this plug-in has a serious bug, at least with WP 4.
The older comments were positive, so I suppose it has worked at some point in time, but it sure doesn’t work now.
