I’ve been using BPS for a while now and i have to manually lock the htaccess file as my host unlocks it and then i get the message about not having BPS.

I updated W3TC and received an error message saying it couldn’t write to the htaccess file as it was locked. I’ve had this happen before and i usually just go and manually unlock it so it can be written to. However, this time when i tried to go to BPS i got a ‘500 error’ and since then i have been locked out of wordpress.

I’ve used FTP to try some of the solutions on forum but to no avail (https://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/read-me-first-free/)

Any ideas as to what is up?

Yep, logically you should probably try to add each setting individually that you had before and then test. In other words, try 1 setting at a time and test everything to isolate/find out if this problem is caused by a particular w3tc setting.

That’s a good idea. will post any results back here for anyone else that is reading this thread and is experiencing similar issues.

Cool! Will resolve this thread now, but I will still receive email notifications when a new post is added to this thread even in resolved status.

It seems as if everything works fine in W3TC apart from the “User Agent Groups” section, which needs to be setup to use WP Touch Pro – so that your mobile site doesn’t serve the desktop theme and vice versa.

I’ve tried this in W3TC 0.9.3 and 0.9.2.11 to see if it was just something with the newest version, but “User Agents Groups” causes 500 errors in both of them.

Ok let Frederick Townes know about this by posting in the W3TC plugin support area so that he can let you know whether this is a bug or if there is workaround, etc. Good job! Thanks.
