• Hi all,

I have just ported over the latest wordpress package via filezilla and I have attempted the simplified version of the 5 minute installation steps but nothing happens. I have tested it by typing my website url into a web browser but to no avail, any suggestions?

Its ok now, I have just installed it by the cpanel host. Now I am confused as to where those files are and how to get at them via filezilla?

    Thanks

Hi absolute novice here. What is a PHP. Do I need it to install wordpress?
I have read about Apache or Nginx? Do I need one of these in order for wordpress to work? Any very simple Basic info would be great!

@maddywolfe Please don’t jump into existing threads unless your issue is exactly the same as the original topic. Instead, start a new thread.

@squathub It depends on your host. I assume you used a 1-click automated WordPress installation? If that’s the case, ask your host where all the files are placed on your server.

When you use filezilla, use the ftp account login credentials you created in cPanel, then in FileZilla, most of the time the files are stored in /var/www.
