5.9 – language option

  • Suddenly there is a language option on the login page – US or UK English. Seems to be part of 5.9 update. It is quite unnecessary! Can I remove this?

    You can use filter

    add_filter( 'login_display_language_dropdown', '__return_false' );

    Further point – under “Settings” there is a language option. Selecting “English – UK” and “Save changes” it reverts to “English – United States” !! It is impossible to change it apparently.

    Further – changing language on the login page (wp-admin) appears to change it, but not in the “Settings”. However on next going to login it has reverted to US English!

    in functions.php

    If use main theme path is wp-content/themes/YOURTHEME or if it’s child theme wp-content/themes/CHILD-THEME.
