    Hello,

I cannot seem to find the setting in my Office 365 admin (i have office 365 thru godaddy) to disable SMTP authentication, I would appreciate any assistance.

    from the log
5.7.139 Authentication unsuccessful, SmtpClientAuthentication is disabled for the Tenant. Visit https://aka.ms/smtp_auth_disabled for more information. [CH2PR15CA0030.namprd15.prod.outlook.com]

Following this link https://aka.ms/smtp_auth_disabled (was no help) i cannot find the settings they are mentioning in the above, or I have no access.

I have no setting to disable SMTP AUTH, please see here > https://prnt.sc/12gbr3a

How can I disable SMTP Auth?

All of the results from google are not up to date, office 365 has new admin console. Are there any step-by-step instructions on how to enable wordpress website to use office365 email account to send emails?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @onastvar,

As you have Office 365 provided by GoDaddy, you are not a true ‘Global Administrator’. Please speak with GoDaddy support to ask them if it is possible to have authenticated SMTP enabled for your account.

As GoDaddy provide your mail, you need to speak with them first. Unfortunately this is outside of the scope of Post SMTP support.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks @tneville! I contacted GoDaddy email support and they had their Admin enable SMTP on my account, I was told to wait 2 hours before trying again. I appreciate your help!

    Hi @onastvar,

That sounds like very sensible advice from GoDaddy – good luck!

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

    FYI
Change GoDaddy made on my Office365 email account worked (2 hours later).

Great news, thanks for confirming and glad to hear that you are all sorted.

    Kind Regards,
    Tim
