5.5.4 Update

    I am having an issue with my site crashing with the latest update. Had to roll back my production site on Thursday. Tried the update again on my test site this morning and cannot access it anymore. Update seems fine until a form is submitted. Then everything goes haywire. It appears to be a database issue. It seems to be consuming all of the server load and causing the site to time out and making it impossible to reach the back end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Again, updating is fine until someone submits a form. I use custom html in several of the forms as well. Don’t know if that would have anything to do with it.

    Which one is the theme?

    I use a child theme of Zelle Pro

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, Classic Editor, Classic Widgets, Wordfence Security, WordPress Importer and WP Mail SMTP, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

    I turned the supporting plugins I have for Contact Form 7 back on and was able to complete a form successfully.
