5.4 Plugin Causing Issues with Thank You Message

Contact Form plugin 5.3.2 works great for firing the “thank you message” upon form submission. When I upgraded to 5.4, the form just spins and doesn’t give a thank you message. I am on php version 7.4. I had to roll back my version to 5.3.2 since the form wasn’t firing and we needed it working for online church attendance.

Any ideas? on how to resolve?
