5.10.5 update breaks pages in Divi websites

as was mentioned regarding other page builders / themes, the 5.10.5 update broke our site, built using Divi theme.
symptom was duplication of the featured images on all posts and archive pages, especially that it used the native sizes of images, sometimes very very large images, where the theme had sized them down.
rolled back to 5.10.0, issue resolved.
please back out the 5.10.5 and debug… thanks in advance.
