Have had to deactivate plugin due to it hitting cpu and executions hard. Seems to be stuck in a loop. Its been running for over 4 hours and not finished.

I contacted site ground support who advised me to deactivate plugin because after checking domain hits it returned 4288 hits in the 4 hour period see below:

    Page URL Number of hits
    /wp-json/siteground-optimizer/v1/check-image-optimizing-status 4 288

Clear your browser cache completely and update to 5.0.6. Just released a patch that fixes this too!

I have done this and will keep a close eye on it as I am slightly suspicious that it is not resolved. The optimization of existing images indicator is still spinning. So my only option is to keep an eye on the number of executions and cpu usage on the server.

I also notice that php check is sticking at 1% on the progress bar.
