• After 4.5.1 update this morning, behaviour of selecting inline images appears to have changed. In order to select a left- or right-aligned image contained within a para, I have to select the para first (direct selection of the image not possible), then I can select the image – but image edit window shows no content.

I’d be interested to know if anyone can duplicate this problem.

    OS X 10.10.5, Safari 9.0.3 (10601.4.4), WP 4.5.1 using Generate Press theme

This is the HTML, as copied from the Text view:
<p><strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-1490" src="path-to-image.jpg" alt="image" width="120" height="120" />Lorem ipsum</strong>?dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat.</p>

In the Visual editor, yesterday I could select the image with a single click, which would bring up the edit toolbar. Today, after 4.5.1 upgrade, clicking on the image itself does nothing. By trial and error, I worked out that if I select the para by clicking on the p in the footer bar, I can then select the image and bring up the edit toolbar. But if I then select the pencil icon (I want to change the image’s size), the Image Details dialog is empty.

I was able to make my desired edit directly in the HTML, but the client I’m building this for will only be able to use the Visual editor.

Is this a bug? Am I missing something? Any feedback will be appreciated.
