• Hi

Since the install of 4.4.2, I’ve noticed that the link to reset your password is missing from the email when an administrator does a password generate through the Users section of wordpress.

I get the following email (with some changes to personal info) when an admin uses the generate password on my account:

“[BLAHBLAH Training Portal] Notice of Password Change

    Hi [email protected]

This notice confirms that your password was changed on the BLAHBLAH Training Portal.

If you did not change your password, please contact the Site Administrator at [email protected]

This email has been sent to [email protected]

    Regards,
    All at BLAHBLAH Training Portal”

Does anyone have information as to why they changed the generate password functionality so that instead of a password link (from WP 4.3)?

Is there anyway to change this email (not the same as the lost password email)? Either through installing a particular plugin or changing some code?

    Thanks In Advance.
    Dia

I can understand if you logged in as yourself and you were a subscriber you would get a notification email. But if you were an admin and you were trying to reset someone’s password on the account, wouldn’t it make sense to either send them a link for resetting as opposed to just saying your password has changed. It would force a change in workflow, the admin would have send out a manual email outside of wordpress either providing user a password or a reset link.

Maybe email notification could be an optional button when a password is reset through the Users tab. Different notification sent, if an admin updates your password vs you updating your own password.

    Just my two deprecated pennies.
